Move Well. Train Well. Live Well.

There’s a lot of noise in the health and fitness world.

New programs.
New hacks.
New promises of transformation.

But after years of training, racing, coaching, raising children, and simply living life in a body that sometimes feels incredible and sometimes feels very human… I keep coming back to the same three ideas.

Three ideas that have quietly shaped how I train, how I coach, and how I live.


Move well.
Train well.
Live well.


They sound simple. But they are the foundation for everything.

MOVE WELL

Before anything else, we need to move.

Not perfectly.
Not with the “right” gear.
Not once we’ve read the right book or followed the perfect program.

Just… move.

Walk the dog.
Take the long way home.
Climb the hill.
Swim in the sea.
Stretch after a long day.

Your body already knows what to do.

And when we start moving regularly – without pressure or perfection – something interesting happens.

Energy improves.
Strength follows.
Confidence grows.

And over time, without really trying to force it, we begin to move better.

When I say move well, I don’t mean perfect technique, complicated drills, or needing to “fix” your body before you start.

Often, moving well simply means moving regularly, comfortably, and in ways your body enjoys.

A walk outside.
A stretch after sitting too long.
Playing with your children.
Swimming in cold water.
Climbing a hill just because it’s there.

Our bodies are remarkably good at teaching us how to move – if we give them the chance.

Because this isn’t just about performance.

It’s about building a good life.

TRAIN WELL

Once we move regularly, we can train well.

Training is not punishment.
It’s not something we squeeze into the corners of our day because we feel we should.

It’s a practice.

Training well means having purpose.

Sometimes that purpose is performance – preparing for a race, building strength, chasing a goal that once felt impossible.

Sometimes the purpose is simply staying capable.

Strong enough to carry your children.
Fit enough to explore mountains or oceans.
Resilient enough to keep doing the things you love for decades to come.

Good training respects the body.

It balances effort and recovery.
Strength and endurance.
Structure and flexibility.

It recognises that life is busy, seasons change, and perfection is not required.

Consistency beats intensity every single time.

LIVE WELL

And then there’s the piece people often forget.

Living well.

Because health isn’t built in the gym.

It’s built in the quiet rhythms of everyday life.

Sleep.
Food that nourishes rather than restricts.
Time outside.
Time with people you love.
Moments of stillness.
Moments of adventure.

Living well means remembering that we are not machines built purely for output.

We’re human beings.

And the goal isn’t just to be fit – it’s to be fully alive.

To notice the small things.

The morning light on a run.
The laughter of your children.
The deep satisfaction of a body that feels strong and capable.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

For many people, health becomes another box to tick.

Another pressure.
Another thing they feel they’re failing at.

But it doesn’t have to be like that.

When we focus on these three principles – move well, train well, live well – everything becomes simpler.

Movement becomes joyful.
Training becomes purposeful.
Life becomes richer.

This isn’t about chasing perfection.

It’s about building a life where your body supports the things that matter most.

Adventure.
Family.
Exploration.
Strength.
Longevity.

A life lived out loud, in full colour.
